Good things to know.
Does the AI really work offline?+
After a compatible device has downloaded the model and all required files, inference runs locally. No cloud AI is required. Without the model, the reference library, fixed guidance and kit tools remain available. Test your own device with the connection off.
Will it run on my phone?+
The interface adapts to phones. Local AI also depends on the browser, operating system, graphics, available memory and storage. A browser feature check is a starting point, and does not qualify every Android or iPhone. Physical phone qualification is still being completed.
Are the maps detailed everywhere?+
The starter has country outlines, approximate North American regional boundaries and roads and water around Canmore. It does not include broad terrain maps, automatic routes, live conditions or a finding that a route is safe. You can import your own GPX and GeoJSON layers.
Can it identify something safe to eat?+
The current plant records are regional research leads. They do not identify a specimen, establish present availability or authorize eating it. Diagnostic photographs, poisonous lookalike review and qualified botanical review are separate release requirements.
What happens if I cancel updates?+
Your downloaded Core edition continues to work offline. A subscription controls eligibility for new downloads while active. It does not put an expiry date on your saved edition or require an online check to open your kit.
Is it a substitute for emergency help?+
Woodsman AI cannot call rescuers, diagnose someone or certify an AI answer. Source checked first aid summaries still require independent professional review before release. Use emergency services and trained help when available, and open the linked guidance for its context.
What stays private?+
Your kit records, manuals and conversations are encrypted on your device. A passphrase unlocks them locally. The online shop processes purchase and membership records separately through Stripe. Woodsman AI cannot recover a forgotten kit passphrase.
